If you've purchased a vape from a vape shop and use it regularly, you'll want to take it with you when you travel by plane. However, there are some things to be aware of when it comes to plane travel with a vape. The following are six things to be aware of when you want to take a flight with your vape on board.

1. Keep your vape device in your carry-on bag.

The FAA will not allow vape devices to be stored in checked luggage. In fact, the FAA does not technically allow any device that runs on batteries to be kept in checked baggage. You'll therefore need to bring your vape device in your carry-on bag.

2. Don't leave your device in your checked luggage.

Your checked luggage could be inspected by TSA personnel. They have the authority to throw your vape device away if you accidentally leave it in your checked luggage. It's better to keep it in your carry-on luggage.

3. You can distribute larger containers of vape liquid into smaller containers.

One important thing that you may already be aware of regarding luggage restrictions on flights is that you can't travel with more than 3.4 ounces of liquid in a particular container. You can transport your e-liquid while also getting around this restriction if you distribute larger quantities of e-liquid into smaller containers for your flight.

4. Place your vape supplies in a plastic bag during travel.

If you vape regularly, you probably already know that keeping your vape supplies dry is important. You can make sure your vape supplies stay dry while traveling by air by packing them in plastic bags. Plastic bags also help contain any spill if your e-liquid leaks while you're traveling.

5. Wrap your vape kit and e-liquid in bubble wrap or another cushioning material.

In addition to putting vape supplies in plastic bags, it's also a good idea to wrap them in bubble wrap or another cushioning material. Vape supplies tend to be fragile and could potentially become damaged in transit. Bubble wrap provides a layer of security and helps prevent damage while you're flying.

6. Understand that vaping is not allowed in most airports or on planes.

While vaping is sometimes permitted on certain types of public transportation these days, you should not expect to be able to vape while traveling by air. Both in the airport and on the plane itself, vaping is likely to be prohibited.
